The chain is built from raw material receipt to dispatch. From a lot number you can trace back which customer the product went to, in which batch, and which raw material it was made from.

Yes. Production and expiry dates are kept by batch. The FEFO rule (first expired, first out) can be applied at dispatch.

If we need to recall a product, how quickly does the list come out?

The list of affected dispatches and customers is reported directly from the lot number. This depends on traceability data being recorded correctly at goods receipt.
